Overview

A global corporation that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets products and services in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry came to Taylor Bruce in need of a better system for getting up-to-date information out to their 5000+ member sales team. We’d love to share the nitty-gritty details of the project with you, but we’re bound by a confidentiality agreement. So, suffice it to say, it was extremely complex, and needed to function in a way that harnessed the advantages of electronic media to provide real-time data on-demand, and adhere to extremely strict and important regulatory requirements regarding information disbursement.

Our Approach

Our approach focused on the users – what they needed to find and how they searched for it. The idea was that the path to finding information was just as important as the end result of the search, as it could be used to help lead other users to helpful information that they may not have been aware of. The search functionality was quite complex and the structure of our solution made it possibly to virtually share information and ideas among team members by tracking their search activities and information requests.

Structure and Flexibility

We partnered with Arc Technology Group to develop the framework for this on-line system. The project was designed to function optimally, and then retrofitted to work within the guidelines of the corporate graphic standards for the web. The navigational structure differed a great deal from other areas of the corporate web site. In this area, all information was contained within a single screen, which showed the complete path to knowledge and offered a greater depth of information. And it was all available in real time, 24/7/365.

Easy Maintenance

The entire project was designed with ease of maintenance in mind and built utilizing the Joomla content management system (CMS) platform. The framework was handed off to the client who could easily update and maintain the information in real time on an ongoing basis. Going this route was a smart use of resources, because once the system was designed and in place, the framework could be adapted for use with other products or services.
